Artifact 1: Telecommunications Network Design for Constant Hall

• Description: I designed a network layout for a building on ODU’s campus, determining optimal connections from each room, each equipped with a minimum of two data outlets, to strategically placed network closets on every floor. This assignment enabled me to develop practical skills in network design, infrastructure planning, and budgeting, while considering both technical requirements and cost efficiency.

Artifact 2: Python Automation Script – Personal Coding Project

• Description: I developed a Python bot to automate a repetitive task within a game. During this project, I researched and applied knowledge from multiple tutorials to achieve the desired functionality. This experience enhanced my understanding of the programming process from initial concept to completion and demonstrated my problem-solving skills, as I successfully addressed and overcame numerous challenges throughout development.

Artifact 3: Wireshark Network Scan Lab

• Description: I used my problem-solving skills to follow a step-by-step process in Wireshark, capturing and analyzing network traffic between my browser and a website. By applying filters and interpreting packet data, I answered questions about how information is sent and received, and learned the importance of encrypting network traffic.

• Description: I delivered a presentation on the OSI layers, clearly explaining how they interact within networking. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex concepts confidently and effectively.

Skill 3: Adaptability

Artifact 1: Learning Japanese

• Description: I showed I can adapt by learning Japanese and using it for my class final. I wrote emails in Japanese, read the replies, and responded again. This helped me get used to new words, grammar, and ways of thinking, and showed I can handle new and different situations.

Artifact 2: Interdisciplinary Research Visual Project

• Description: I made a visual project that showed how cybersecurity and social media are connected. I used my creativity to design the visual and did research to make sure the information was correct. This helped me practice sharing ideas in a clear and interesting way.

• Description: I showed adaptability by learning how to use new online tools to analyze and compare different malware samples, like Mirai and VIPKeylogger. I adjusted to new methods and information quickly, which helped me better understand malware analysis and improve my technical skills.
