The main reason to use multimedia in artifacts is to not only reduce the amount of text and scrolling needed, but to help more visual learners process information. Adding graphics along side text can help reinforce the point being made, and give examples or evidence as needed. Adding a video demonstration alongside an online training manual is another good example of multimedia principle. I used multimedia in my own examples; by adding pictures to my Professional Goals page, any recruiter or member of human resources who isn’t very knowledgeable in cybersecurity can better understand what I’m talking about, and in a former class’s research paper, I added an image as evidence to support my point.
