I think if you’re an aspiring InfoSec professional, you should examine where you want your career to go, and research what credentials are most sought after in that field, or at least some of the most basic ones. An example being, before I enrolled in Cybersecurity at ODU, I attempted to self-teach myself to take the CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam (which failed miserably), because I was interested in being a Network Administrator. I researched what resources would help me, and I even bought a Udemy class tutorial to help teach me information I would need for the exam. Udemy is also a great place to start. There are many courses that teach you the fundamentals you’ll need for passing even basic accreditation courses like CompTIA+, the CCNA, and CISA (Certified Information Security Auditor). They’re a great place to get started on obtaining cybersecurity credentials!
