Group Reflection 1

Progress in our group is ok so far. When we were assigned together, we really didn’t communicate until a few days later. I had made a post in our group discussion on September 21st and later that day. Narcisse had texted us all so we could chat and discuss the project. Later that day, Mhaliek, and Hailey responded, and we all shared our majors. I could tell straight away that communication was going to be a big issue, partially because of the nature of the project where “group work but individual assignments” as well as all of us being busy with other classes, and not really knowing each other didn’t help.

A few days later, I threw out an idea for the project I had been thinking about, and Narcisse tossed her ideas out. We didn’t really discuss them at length, and nothing else was said until a few days later when Narcisse asked which idea we were committing to. I said I supported her idea of Supply Chain Auditing, which we eventually adopted as our innovation idea. Mhaliek, and Hailey were sort of uncommunicative, but they both said they were busy with other projects, which is completely understandable.

I think the nature of the group work for this class is a bit strange. It really doesn’t allow for a fully teamwork-oriented group work style that a lot of people are used to. At most, we can share resources, and work to get the items we need (like the group work pictures for the e-portfolio submission), but other than that it really is up to the individual. This group project is a really strange one to work one, and as a result I think it’s sort of just fallen to the wayside for us all in terms of priority, at least for the moment.
