The cost of building cybersecurity programs in business may cost a lot if you plan on getting the maximum protection possible which is what I would recommend if you plan on running a long lasting successful business since hackers will find flaws if you choose not to get the best protection. For instance with twitter, they have not not had their protection upgraded since the early 2010’s which allowed for hackers to take information from them. A lot of people’s personal information got taken by the hackers because twitter decided to save money by never keeping their security updated and now face major backlash because of it. Another instance is when a game called overwatch 2 in October was immediately DDos upon release because the business that created it just launched it with no protection and hackers were immediately able to prevent anyone from playing it by flooding it with bots taking up the space in the game. In conclusion, even though it may be expensive, getting the best protection will always benefit a business more than it will hurt it no matter what the cost is. Even if you can not afford the best at the time, once you are able to you should always upgrade and keep your protection updated. The benefits greatly outweigh the downsides of not having cybersecurity programs inside of businesses. One benefit is that customers tend to invest and spend on businesses that are protected and not ones they feel are not safe. In other words businesses will actually lose potential customers by not having cybersecurity available.Another benefit of cybersecurity is the general fact that it protects literally all of your valuable information inside of your business. It also stops zero day risks which are potential acts of hacks on businesses the day of their release in which as I talked about earlier happened to a game called Overwatch 2.
