As cyber technology has evolved so has the people who use them. People of today are way more tech savvy than those of people who had first started using technology. These days everyone, even little kids know how to use technology and are accustomed to them since they had grown up with them compared to people who only found out about technology when they were adults. Since technology has been a part of many people’s lives growing up, they have an attachment to those devices when they are at work. A lot more than people who worked back when technology was first coming into being. Work deviance usually would start off only minor but if not checked can evolve into something that is harmful to the company. People may see being on their phone at work not an issue while their boss may say otherwise and in the worst outcome possible an argument may ensue over the issue that may hurt the company and may even split it with some people agreeing with the user about their technology. This is why it is important for companies to train their workers about deviance in the company so that instances like these do not occur but sadly this is not always the cause and the above scenario or something similar happens such as the usage of computers. As cyber technology evolves it is used more and more in everyday lives such as companies who use computers. With the freedom to use computer workers may misuse the computer for something of their own gain or may even download illegal things or things not prohibited on the computer, they may even gamble on the computer. By using the computer like this they may allow viruses to get inside of their companies’ software and with that allow hackers to hack into their companies database and steal their information. Workplace deviance can also be beneficial to a company too. Short term misuse can allow companies to make long term security practices to prevent any further corruption that someone may also do.
