The Woman King

I move through the world with the instinct of an explorer and the heart of a woman rooted in love. I’ve traced the cold pulse of New York Harbor, watching endangered sturgeon rise like ancient shadows beneath the waves, and I’ve crossed the sun‑cracked earth of Morocco, brushing sand from pottery that last felt human hands centuries ago. My military sharpened awareness guides me through every wild place from storm tossed coastlines to forgotten ruins carrying a quiet courage that never wavers.
The Navy carried me farther than I ever imagined. I’ve walked the glittering streets of Dubai, felt the desert heat of Bahrain, wandered through the art‑soaked corners of France, and breathed in the history and food of Italy. Each place left its mark on me shaping my sense of wonder, sharpening my resilience, and expanding the way I see the world.

When the world grows loud, I turn to the things that steady me, painting and drawing, where color and brush strokes become a kind of meditation. And when I’m not creating, I’m reading. I’m an avid lover of romantasy and fiction, because life is already serious my books don’t have to be. They’re my escape, my soft place to land, my reminder that magic still exists in the quiet corners of the world. When I step outside, I find my peace under open skies: hunting at dawn alongside my husband to put meat on our tables, and gardening with my children teaching them that as simple as soil is, it carries the memories of everything that came before us and nourishing every living thing in quiet, patient ways. I enjoy camping beneath a quilt of stars and wandering the shoreline with the tide at my feet.

I’m also a hunter of knowledge. I dive into current peer‑reviewed scientific articles and scholarly journals, chasing new perspectives with the same curiosity that pulls me across oceans. And in the quiet hours, I lose myself in the painted worlds of the Renaissance the dramatic shadows of Jacopo Tintoretto, the ethereal grace of Botticelli, the rich color and humanity of Titian. Their work reminds me that art and science are both forms of discovery.

Being raised in the Caribbean taught me a steady appreciation for life, never taking its beauty for granted, from the beaches and the mountain views to the vegetables I pulled by hand from my own yard that fed me and my family … those memories fuel my drive to protect the environment. That life forged me into the woman I am a foundation I now pass on to my children with pride.

But my truest compass is home. I have held many titles but the ones I’m most proud of are mother and wife. Grounding my restless spirit in the people I love most.

I am a blend of grit and grace an adventurer, an artist moving through life with a spirit that is both fierce and beautifully tender.
