CYSE 270

Throughout this course, I developed a strong foundation in Linux system administration and core cybersecurity concepts through consistent, hands-on practice. Working directly within a Linux environment helped me build confidence using the command-line interface, managing users and permissions, configuring systems, and performing basic networking and automation tasks. At the beginning of the semester, I relied heavily on step-by-step guidance and had limited familiarity with Linux commands. Over time, I became more independent in navigating the system, troubleshooting issues, and understanding how different components of the operating system interact.

This course has significantly contributed to my preparation for a future career in cybersecurity and information technology. The skills I developed, including system configuration, access control, scripting, and security awareness, are directly applicable to real-world environments. In addition, the course strengthened my problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, which are essential in technical roles. Overall, this experience has reinforced my interest in cybersecurity and provided a solid foundation for continued learning and professional development.
