I have developed strong work habits through my SOC internship and cybersecurity coursework. I am detail oriented when investigating alerts, especially phishing emails and suspicious activity. I reviewed alerts daily and analyzed domains, URLs, and user behavior to determine if activity was malicious or a false positive. I dig deeper into technical issues and do not rely on a single tool. I cross check findings using SIEM tools, endpoint detection platforms, and threat intelligence to get a full understanding. I am adaptable and able to work in fast paced environments where priorities change quickly. I break down incidents step by step to identify root causes and respond effectively. I also stay current with threats by reviewing security blogs and reports.
Soft Skills
I have developed strong communication skills through my coursework and SOC internship. I can explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non technical audiences. When documenting incidents, I keep my analysis clear, direct, and structured so others can easily understand it. I am comfortable presenting ideas and explaining concepts in both class and real investigations. I also use active listening to fully understand issues before responding, especially when working with team members or assisting users. I approach communication with patience and professionalism, which helps me collaborate effectively in team environments.
Detailed Knowledge of Key Technologies
I have experience working with a range of technologies through my coursework and SOC internship. I have used Linux in lab environments and understand basic commands, file systems, and security practices. I am also familiar with Microsoft technologies, including Windows systems and identity platforms. I understand network implementation and security, including how traffic flows and how security controls are applied. I also have knowledge of wireless risks and insecure connections. Through my SOC experience, I have analyzed phishing emails and understand how social engineering attacks target users. I also have exposure to web technologies and understand how applications function and can be targeted.
