Labs

Lab 1- In this lab, I learned to install and create my virtual machine.



Lab 2- Learned basic Linux commands and how to navigate my virtual machine.


Lab 3- Worked in Vi editor, learning the ins and outs of the editor.


Lab 4- Managed user and group accounts, furthering my knowledge and skills within in Linux


Lab 5- Learned the commands and process of password cracking, overall my favorite lab for the class.


Lab 6- Worked with file permissions for different users and groups. This lab was a bit challenging as it was very different compared to the other labs.


Lab 7- Managed the storage of my virtual machine, while also learning the commands on how to view it.


Lab 8- Learned how to shell script within Vi editor. Overall found this lab very intriguing as it involved coding.


Lab 9 – Learned how to run task within Linux using crontab. This lab was very interesting to attempt as it helped strengthen my skills in an area I was new to.


Lab 10- Strengthened my skills in basic network subnetting which will help me for future task.


Lab 11- Learned basic network configurations, reinforcing my knowledge in what each command does.


Course Reflection

Overall, this course was very fun and interesting to take as I have always liked working in Linux. The labs were very intriguing to do as I learned much from each one. The skills that I was able to obtain from this course will help substantially in the future if I ever need to work within Linux.
