Show Your Final Who’s Boss

With the semester coming to an end, there can only be one thing left: FINALS. Such a short and simple word that holds such a big meaning for a lot of us. For some, this is their first experience finishing finals, but for all of us, this is our first time finishing finals in a scenario like this. Not to worry; you have made it farther than you might have thought. So now onto my tips for how to make it through this unique finals season.

  • STUDY
    • This one seems pretty obvious, but you would be surprised how many students just “wing it”. Studying environments may be different, but your ability to review is not my friend. Blunt, I know, but believe in yourself and stick to the study methods that work best for you.
  • PACE YOURSELF
    • When studying for your finals, or final projects, be careful not to overload yourself. Over-studying is real and can actually cause you to do worse because cramming your brain will add to fatigue.
  • FOOD AND SLEEP
    • I know this is redundant, and you might be tired of hearing it, but eating right and getting good sleep before you sit down to take that exam really does work. The right food gives you enough energy for thinking because yes, it does burn calories to think. Sleeping helps too because your brain stores info while you’re sleeping. It would suck to study for seven hours and not remember any of it.
  • CONFIDENCE
    • This is without a doubt important. Without confidence in yourself, and what you know, you might freeze up as soon as you see the first question. Even if you didn’t get to study as much as you wanted, or the professor decides to throw in random topics, just breathe, have confidence in your abilities and what you DO know.

Good luck everyone!
