Holding Yourself Accountable

Bouncing off the concept from last week of putting 100% effort into what you do: another important skill is holding yourself accountable. This essentially means, having standards for yourself and the work you put out.

You can do this in many ways, but I have found the simplest way is to frequently ask myself a question. “Am I proud of what I have done today?” By asking yourself this question, you are able to give yourself an easy “quality check” to make sure you are still being consistent. Also, the answer to that question may not always be yes. If you’re not meeting your own standards, then it is a good time to regroup and refocus.

College can test you in a lot of ways, so it is always good to make sure you are responsible for you. Weather it is for class, sports, clubs, relationships, or even just cleaning your living space: hold yourself accountable.
