There are benefits and deficits when it comes to computers. While it allowed humans to reach past the sky, it also allowed us to kill others. The problem lies in the usage of computers and the morality and attitude of users toward a laptop. The purpose of computers is to help humanity. However, the usage of technology differs for people who hold it. Some use computers for good, while there are people who use them for evil. We are imperfect creatures that roam the planet Earth that uses technology for our interest. Here are some things that computers have done for the world.

Unsafe Environment

Computers have allowed bullying to take another level. Whether it’s harassment or name-calling, people can bully anyone online. They can bully anyone online because they can stay anonymous. Anonymity has allowed people to have confidence in what they say online. They can preach one thing online but others in real life. The online personality can differ from in-person because no one truly knows who those people are. They can be out the immorally questioning others without worrying about the other consequence because they are “online.”

Additionally, private information is not confidential. Companies might be selling users’ data without them knowing. Companies’ values, like Facebook, changed from user experience to marketing value. To make money, companies have ads based on the likes and dislikes of a user. Thus, making the user uncomfortable when going “online.”

Finally, there’s the toxic environment of the internet. Celebrities have a hard time recovering when many people accuse them of something that isn’t morally correct right. Millions’ voices seem to demoralize others based on their action not being on par with society’s values. One can be morally correct but is still wrong in the eyes of many. Therefore, computers’ toxic environment has people depressed and anxious.

Safe Environment

While many people can bully others, some help others. Platforms, such as GoFundMe, have allowed many people to unite to make something extraordinary for other people. Strangers helping strangers help restore the faith in humanity.

Additionally, some companies protect user information. Although users pay companies to do so, they do so very well. Things like antivirus can help many users prevent attacks from browsers or their local area network.

Finally, a community forum gives a positive vibe to others. Many people often feel depressed online, but through many encouragements from strangers, they start to believe in themselves, making the cyber world a safer place.
