In modern-day media, I feel cybersecurity is adjacently talked about through the prime focus of hacking. Most times hacking is portrayed in a streamlined manner where the hacker is about to achieve their goal in a matter of minutes if not seconds. This displays cybersecurity in a less than lacking light since oftentimes hackers do not even run into a single error when attempting their ‘hack’. Occasionally the word ‘firewall’ could be mentioned but more often than not cybersecurity is often portrayed as a non-existence force in media due to the easy access that most media hackers display.
I do not blame the media because it would be hard to swallow for a regular action movie enjoyer to all of a sudden get a nmap lesson in the middle of a dramatic scene.
