Infographics – Sandbox #3

For this sandbox, I used Canva to create an infographic.  I was amazed at all the different types of infographics they had available with the templates.  When I was looking at the comparison ones, it reminded me of a Venn diagram, only these had more graphics and more appeal than just two circles.  I also thought it would be great to do a comparison infographic for fiction and nonfiction books with students…and then I found one on Canva! 🙂 Using infographics is a great idea for making posters in the library.  Having an infographic to label parts of a book or about the meanings of the numbers in call numbers on spines of a book could be a way to incorporate infographics into a library.  I also like the idea of using them for creating how-to visuals for students.  For example, how to do self-check-out would be a great option for an infographic to show the steps and procedures for that.  Or how to use the online card catalog.  I would probably also use the comparison of fiction and nonfiction.  I found Canva easy to use with lots of options for graphics and details to add to the infographics.  It was easy to drag things to where they needed to go and change colors.  I would definitely utilize the templates again to make it easier for me to create an infographic (again, I did feel overwhelmed with options like I did with the previous sandbox), but, with more experience, creating different things for the different roles in the library should become easier with time.

How creative! My school library has been using this format with our second grade classes. I think yours is so pretty and appealing with the different colors. I could see how this would also be a great bulletin board! Great job!

I love your infographic! I loved where you started each sentence making the word LIBRARY and setting a color for each letter. It’s not too crowded and commits to what you want to portray in a simple way!

OOOOO! I love the idea of using it as a how-to. In the classroom for younger kids, you could have one on how to wash hands thoroughly. I love the infographic you made, it’s so colorful and pleasing to the eyes.
