mpark’s events for the month of February, 2025:
- Chapbook making with Bridget Dolan | February 13th (Thursday) at 12:30 PM – 13:30, BAL 2027
- In this workshop, participants will learn how to stitch chapbooks, a practice that has been around for hundreds of years. Participants will learn about the history of chapbooks while making their own. Materials for chapbook making will be provided by mpark.
- Douglass Day transcribe-a-thon | February 14th (Friday) 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, BAL 2019
- Join ODU’s mpark for the first digital humanities event this year! We will be hosting a Douglass Day transcribe-a-thon, in which students, faculty, and staff are invited to help digitize (transcribe) the archives of the Library of Congress.

February 21st (Friday) 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, BAL 2027March 4th, 2025 (Tuesday) at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, BAL 2027 (mpark).- Join us at mpark for the first bookbinding workshop with Prof. Luisa A. Igloria. Bring your own materials or use ours! No previous experience necessary.
- February craft-in with the mpark team | February 27th (Thursday) 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM, BAL 2027
- We invite everyone to drop in to eat some snacks and take up a new craft or work on something you have in process. We’ve got some extra embroidery thread, chapbook making supplies, calligraphy ink, etc. We imagine this time as an opportunity to meet new people, reconnecting, working with our hands to make things, and generally getting crafty.
Our events are open to all students, faculty, and staff.
