Lab Review

Lab 1 – In this lab I learned how to install Linux and learned a few basic commands such as (echo, date, ls, and pwd). the only challenge I faced was the installation time it took to get Linux running. Overall it was a good start to Linux.

Lab 2 – In this lab I learned how to switch directory and display the files in the directory. The only challenge I faced was this being the first time I had used Linux so remembering the commands was hard. Overall it was fun.

Lab 3 – In this lab I used a vi editor. The challenge I faced was learning how to navigate this part of Linux. Overall it was challenging but fun.

Lab 4 – In this lab I learned how to create users and add them to groups. The challenge I faced in this lab was remembering the proper commands for this lab. Overall this was a little stressful.

Lab 5 – In this lab I learned how to install john the ripper in Linux and use it for password cracking. A challenge I faced figuring out how to install john the ripper. Overall this lab was a little stressful.

Lab 6 – In this lab I created groups with only certain permissions. I did not face any real challenge in this lab. Overall it was fun.

Lab 7 – In this lab I learned how to manage local storage and add more in to my virtual machine. I faced no challenges. Overall it was easy.

Lab 8 – In this lab I learned how to use nano for shell scripting. I faced no challenge when doing this lab. Overall it was not than hard to do.

Lab 9 – In this lab I learned how to do task automation in Linux. The challenge I faced was trying to figure out how to get the the task to run. Overall this lab was challenging and stressful.

Lab 10 – In this lab I learned network basics and subnetting. The challenge I faced was converting the IP Address to the Last IP to binary. Overall it was somewhat easy

Lab 11 – In this lab I learned basic network configurations using Ubuntu VM. The challenge I faced was when rebooting my VM it gave me a black screen so I had to shut down the entire VM. Overall this lab was easy.
