Activity Summary 2

During my second 100 hours of my internship in the Human Resources department at ARDX, I continued to build on my understanding of how a professional work environment operates while becoming more involved in ongoing projects. I continued working with Nedra, the Vice President of Quality and Culture, and we met weekly to go over my progress, discuss assignments, and go over any questions I had. Through these regular interactions, I became more comfortable working independently while also learning from the feedback I was given and using it to improve my work.

During this time, my responsibilities increased, especially in my use of Excel and data analysis. I worked more in depth with DISC results by adding new members to existing teams so management could better understand team dynamics. I also continued reviewing chat engagement during meetings and added that data to the spreadsheet I created earlier, making it more detailed over time. In addition, I created tables in Excel to organize AI suggestions that had previously been provided by management and emailed them out for completion. After collecting responses, I combined all of the information into one chart that will be presented to the CEO at an upcoming meeting. I also transferred ORR data into a new template, which required paying close attention to detail to make sure everything was accurate and consistent.

Through these experiences, I continued to build both my technical and professional skills. I became more confident using Excel, especially when working with larger sets of data and organizing information in a clear way. I also improved my analytical skills by working with DISC results and compiling information for leadership. My communication skills grew through regular email use, where I learned the importance of being clear, direct, and professional. I also gained a better understanding of how communication is handled within the company, including the focus on efficiency and avoiding unnecessary emails. Additionally, I had the opportunity to sit in on a team meeting, which showed me how meetings are structured with clear agendas, stay on task, and involve participation from all team members. Overall, this part of my internship helped me take on more responsibility, strengthen my skills, and better understand how workplace communication and teamwork function in a professional setting.
