Snowflake Moray Eel

Echidna nebulosa

Echidna nebulosa

Habitat: Tropical Pacific Ocean

Snowflake moray eels are common reef inhabitants throughout the tropical Pacific ocean and can often be found in burrows among the live rock of reefs where they lay in wait for prey.  Snowflake eels are very aggressive feeders and have been known to leap out of aquariums during feeding times. Our eel (Odin) enjoys small fish, shrimp, clams, and squid. He is fed 2x/week. Odin is approximately 11-12 years old and loves to eat. He arrived in 2010 as a juvenile and has jumped out of the aquarium twice while chasing food.
