The course objective in the syllabus had many points that will help me succeed in the future. The course is to help me understand social psychology and the individuals’ study of their behavior. In the end, I would love to work with children, and to be able to do I must be able to understand why they behave the way they behave. And I believe this class will help! My expectation for this course is to apply what I learn to my daily life. I’m hoping to gain much understanding and knowledge to help me succeed in the future. I’ve already implemented strategies to ensure success in this class, and it’s by taking time to read, make my notes, and even make flashcards to ensure a successful semester!

I have always been the kind of student who will figure it out independently. No matter what. I have those days that I don’t feel that confident to take care of it on my own, but I realize it won’t get done unless I push for it to be done. I should increase sticking to my goals. That would help me improve my confidence level. My self-efficiency results were a 2.9, which I feel I can do better with.
I chose this image because It displayed how I pushed myself to achieve my high school diploma. Now I’m pushing myself to get my college degree.

After reading the article, I learned how much music plays a significant role in relationships. In my friendships, we all have similar music tastes, and I have seen how we bond over the music, and it brings so much joy. I realized that all the music we enjoy shows similar values. Here are a few songs that do just that

The Blessings is an amazing Gospel song that bring my friends peace and joy. It reminds us comfort to know that God is always with us no matter what we go through.
Superhuman is another song that just helps my friends and I during our sad girl moments that bring us all together. To just get over the cold relationships we been through.
The Trillest is another great song that is by my favorite person ever! It makes me feel so empowered like I can do anything in the world.

The process of going back and seeing what we missed is beneficial. It keeps me highly aware of the mistake I have made and how I can reflect and correct the wrong answers and do the research through my notes to understand the correct answer to the question I missed. I will say that the chapters and my notes were hands in hand. I didn’t use the review sheet; I preferred the jeopardy review to help prepare me for the test. I can remember being completely frustrated with the question I did miss to the point I just picked whatever. So, next time I’ll take my time and not allow such a question to cause so much frustration.

Here are few photos from the jeopardy review that helped me study and get through the test!

There are many different forms of ads in the world. Some may be credible or noncredible. Or just plain attractive ad based on what is advertised, and here are a few examples of each form of ad.

Ahead of CES, Apple touts 'what happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone' with privacy billboard in Las Vegas - 9to5Mac

This is an example of a credible ad. This photo demonstrates how the company Apple focuses on making sure all users are informed of their privacy being protected at all times.

Netflix Is a Joke' Billboards in New York and L.A. Are, of Course, Ads for Netflix

This is an example of a non-credible ad. This billboard poster has no real substance or any information to really be perceived as a credible ad. It’s just someone opinion on Netflix that they decided to put up.

Fitness Shoes | Khloe kardashian, Skechers, Skechers shape ups

This is an example of an attractive ad. This ad is getting your attention to buy a product because your favorite celebrity is endorsing or supporting it. This image includes Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian.

After watching Jean Kilbourne’s Ted Talk on The Dangerous Ways Ads See Women. The video brings up how women are overall sexualized and being looked at as objects to society to sell products for women. And after watching, I realized this had been a problem for years, and my examples will provide that.

This image is an Ad from ESPN where a female talks about her struggles with her body images. This can be somewhat controversial because when other women see this, they know another woman is opening up about her struggles. But most men will see this as a naked woman.

This next image represents how even children from an older ad were sexualized in the even to sell products. Making the child look over sexualizing poses. Which is heartbreaking especially knowing parents agree to have their children pose for these ads.

Another image is trying to sell perfume for women. And when looking at the ad, I’m wondering can women sell products without being sexualized in the world. It’s almost like they have to display some skin for a product to sell or even be noticed.

The Over-Sexualization Of Women

This image just says it all. This ad is literally saying that sexy sells, which is not wrong at all. For years the only way to ever sell anything is if there was some kind of sex appeal.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt: Breaking the mold of classic feminism | The Artifice
https://the-artifice.com/panty-and-stocking-with-garterbelt/

The last ad I’ll discuss is how women are looked at as men’s trophy wives. It displays how a hard-working man will have a woman pouring his beer as he works, which objectifies women to be up to the standards of men. Which is very sexist!

Self-regulation is having the ability to keep your behavior and feelings managed. Emotional intelligence is having the ability to understand and manage your emotions in positive way to relieve stress. The relationship between self-regulation and emotional intelligence is basically that self-regulation can help improve emotional intelligence.

I believe emotional intelligence can vary for others but for me I stand on if you don’t understand how to control your emotions how can you really be able to control them in certain situations. I always try to understand my emotions and control them. And with that I try not to react off my emotions, so I take myself to be by myself and calm down. I could improve by not always taking myself out the equation and try to not wear my emotions on my face.

This article was very informative, and it demonstrated the issues that come from sexual relations in marriages. Sex is more than just lying with someone you love or even catching some form of the disease. It’s also a mental thing that causes marriages to go through trials. People forget that sex is not only based on physical attention, but you are also causing sexual tension. For women, we do things based on emotion. That causes us to react in a non-pleasing way. Men usually don’t use their feelings regarding sexual encounters and relationships. And when you think about it, most relationships tend to break apart because men do lack the emotion that women want to receive to feel secure within their relationships.

A lot has been taught in the course for the past three months. And I will say I learned so much information that I enjoyed learning about. My favorite subject I enjoyed learning about were heuristics, emotional intelligence, and the influence of persuasion.

Heuristics were a favorite of mine because it was different and new for me to learn about. After reading about them, we live with them every day, which was awesome to know. Emotional intelligence is understanding, handling, perceiving, and reacting to our emotions. Lastly, persuasion was excellent to learn about. To see the different advertisements and how they use certain people to get you fascinated with what they are promoting. Overall these are my favorites, and I enjoyed every aspect of these modules and applied them in my daily life!

When I think of my Initial course expectations, it was completely different from what I was thinking. I thought this course was going to be complex and intensive. After getting this far, I’ve enjoyed my time in this class. The work is easy and very easy to understand! I feel I have reached almost everything that the course objective has offered. I knew this social psychology course was going to spike my interest. I will say professor Muth made me enjoy the class so much more. I wouldn’t change anything when it comes to taking this course. I believe I did everything I needed to do to succeed. I have grown a lot with this class, and something I can say I took away and use daily is the heuristics I’m able to utilize within my daily life and professional life!
