I feel this course made me grow in many ways not just academically. I learned a lot about cross cultural psychology and about myself. I learned a lot about American culture that I don’t believe I was truly aware of because I am submerged in it daily. Only when it was contrasted with other cultures did is stand out to me and I was able to recognize ideologies and world views that are truly unique to American society and second nature to me. Things I never really considered before became glaringly apparent. It is a very interesting topic and course that I feel opened my perspective a great deal

- I am a beautiful woman
- I am intelligent
- I am educated
- I am dedicated
- I am hard working
- I am determined
- I am financially independent
- I am powerful
- I and strong
- I am unique
I am much more independent and all my answers were based in a “independent construal of self”. This is because I was raised in American culture and in the united states being independent is the most valued trait. Because I grew up in that culture I value these traits in myself and others.
