Compare cybersecurity risks in the U.S. and another country.
The US can be considered one of the most powerful cyber countries on earth. With the amount of effort that the US put into becoming a strong force to stand against enemies on the battlefield, the US also needed to put some effort into defending its data. While the US can be considered strong, I want to take a dive into how China compares to the US in terms of cybersecurity.
In China, the Government is more restrictive on information. This, in turn, could be good and bad. It could be good because they would be able to catch cyber criminals more easily, and they would probably have more precautions in place to prevent attacks, too. The bad thing is that information is not easily accessible if it is being restricted by the government. Because the us is less restrictive, it causes more attacks, but helpful information is not as restricted.
Because China had great economic growth over many years, it was able to bridge the gap a little in terms of cyber power. China could have done this because they were experiencing a greater number of espionage attacks. These attacks made them increase their defenses. A could of government agencies believe that China even has an elite team of hackers called the Cyber Blue Team. This team’s main goal is to protect from cyber threats. This team was originally set up because China believed that they were still relatively weak in terms of cyber protection.
The US also has a cyber program that tries to defend the country. The US has a component of the Department of Defense called the Active Cyber Defense (ACD). These people are in charge of defending the government’s data. They will defend against up to a couple of billion attacks a year.
