Strengthen Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Another key goal for me is to improve my communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in a healthcare setting. A significant part of my role involves interacting with patients, sometimes about sensitive health information. I aim to become more confident and compassionate when assisting patients in providing their data, ensuring they feel heard and understood throughout the process. Since the clinic serves a diverse patient base, many of whom may need translators or may not be familiar with medical terminology, I want to refine my ability to communicate complex information clearly and respectfully. I also aim to strengthen my collaboration skills by working closely with other staff members, learning how to communicate effectively within a team, and understanding how good communication is critical to patient care and clinic efficiency. This will not only help me build trust with patients but also ensure that the clinic’s staff is aligned and working together toward common goals. By the end of my internship, I hope to feel more confident in my ability to navigate both patient and team interactions, fostering a more positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.
