Activity “Are People Who Help Happier?” caught my attention from the start because I was able to look at the people I am fairly close to with a different perspective than I usually do. It showed me that some people’s actions are genuine but some might have ultimatums for doing it. Prosocial behavior usually has regular occurs because they are genuine. it shows there will be more selfish/ happy people because they make sure that they are satisfied themselves before anyone else. I would have thought that there would be more unhappy/ selfish people because usually when you are selfish toward others when they might be less fortunate than you that karma comes back to you in some other way.
Furthermore, I believe that most selfish don’t have great interactions with others because they may be self-centered and don’t think about others. When people are selfish they usually have less empathy towards others which might lead them to be less interactive. However, that others don’t want to interact with someone who wouldn’t do the same that they might do for them. This activity expanded my knowledge because I was able to see why some people might be less interactive with people as well as how others might preview them. I don’t usually view people if they are selfish because that’s not the only thing that they are and have different sides to them.
This is relevant to this topic because it shows that others who are selfish don’t think of others and leave others feeling worthless so they wouldn’t want to associate themselves with them anymore.

The activity “Results of Survey on Stereotypes” has definitely seen a few changes over time which I believe is because the upcoming generation has broken the boundaries of many group stereotypes. The new generation is more welcoming into getting to know a person before upright judging them and it seems to be rubbing off on the older generation who is more open-minded than others. Most of the stereotypes of these groups are highly negative but most of the people who make these stereotypes don’t know better or don’t have knowledge of the group they’re judging. A group that has been stereotyped negatively for centuries is African Americans like low in intelligence, lazy, poor, loud, and criminal.
When looking back at these stereotypes many of them are coming from the outside looking in and that means they don’t know what’s truly going on because they judge before they get to know someone. Many of these stereotypes are changing because many have been able to see what is going on within these groups and are not judging based on the depiction of their character. Those who give these stereotypes are changing their position because they gain background knowledge on these groups. Many of these stereotypes have affected those groups because it has made society judge them even more to the point where they’re getting killed for no reason.

This image is the many stereotypes that I think my group/African Americans represent and see how they are all positive!!!!!

During the activity “The Self across Situations” I was able to take a good look at my behavior and how I react to certain situations. It showed me that I react to certain situations a certain way depending on who is involved in the situation. The situation that involved Loyalty was handled with care because it had to do with my best friend I see my best friend as my other half so it comes from a place of love. If that situation had to deal with someone that I didn’t have a close relationship with I probably wouldn’t have handled the situation with such care. I learned that in every situation that I was in my behavior changed on who I was approaching.
Furthermore, this activity helped me understand that situations affect personality which ultimately affects a person’s behavior. I also learned that a person’s behavior will change depending on the situation so that it aligns with the situation at hand. Not only does a person’s behavior change it reflects the nature of the situation, so if it was serious or funny the behavior will show that. The behavior that is being reflected is just an approach on how to handle the situation depending on the nature of the situation.
