ATA 4: From doing this assignment I learned what my love type is and the reasons for my decisions in relationships. I can apply this to the psychology of sex course that I took and the difference between males and females when it comes to love patterns. From my previous class I learned that women tend to have a more negative perception on themselves and express more emotion. This relates to the love quiz I took because my score for passion and intimacy was much higher than my boyfriend’s when he took it. This assignment was personally relevant to me because it allowed me to look inside of my relationship and myself in order to see what I truly value in a partner.

ATA 3: Assignment 3 was written based on a racist video and our thoughts on it. From doing this assignment I learned that people can comprehend racism in different ways. Meaning that some people can see it as just defending themselves while others can take it as causing pain to a particular person purposefully. I can apply this too is some of our current president Donald Trump’s comments. He once stated, “Laziness is a trait in blacks.” Trump may not have meant his comment in a hurtful way but to blacks this can be taken in a completely different way. This assignment is personally relevant to me because It allows me to understand the pain that some of these comments cause to people and prevents me from potentially making them. For example, making a joking comment to one of my friends could affect them differently than the way I meant it.

ATA 2: I learned how to look into my life as an outsider were to, and piece together characteristics that resembles who I am. I enjoyed doing this assignment because you do not very often have time to reflect on yourself and the good you bring to your surroundings. This reminds me of the self-evaluation speech that I had to give for Public Speaking class my freshman year. I had to evaluate who I am as a person and provide examples as to why people discover each characteristic in my daily actions. I think that this assignment was personally relevant to me because I was able to look at my personal pictures and determine the traits the represent me most as a person. An example of how I did this was looking at a photo of my team and determining that I am a leader, positive thinker, and competitive person.

ATA1: From completing assignment one on heuristics, I learned different methods that people use in order to make quick decisions. It was interesting to see the research behind decisions that happen in our everyday lives. I enjoyed this assignment because it is relevant to myself and the reason for some of the decisions I make. I now think about the decisions I am making and the heuristics I could possibly be using during that moment. I can now apply the information that I have learned and reflect on different decisions I have made or thoughts that I have had in previous situations. I can apply heuristics to other classes that I have taken such as math. This is because heuristics are a set of problem-solving rules that help us discover the best and most practical ways to solve problems. I do this in math class all the time when approaching word problems. I have also found it entertaining to ask my family and friends questions regarding the status quo heuristic and see their responses! The status quo heuristic is my favorite and is why I have chosen the lion king image. When I asked my family and friends whether they would show their kids the new Lion King or the original Lion King they stated, “Definitely the original, nothing compares to the original and everyone must see it.”
