A5: From doing this assignment I was ability to take a step back and evaluate the personality traits that are seen in my behavior weekly. From doing this activity I determined that most of these traits come to life from playing soccer. Soccer has taught me many lessons, but it has also formed me into the person I am. The traits I found from playing soccer was that I am competitive, determined, and positive. These are all traits that I saw within myself just from playing soccer daily. Outside of soccer I concluded that I am adventurous and friendly from my bubbly personality and lack of ability to let myself be bored. From doing this archive I learned a lot about myself and where my personality traits come to life. 

A4: From completing the attitude survey, I have learned that sometimes my attitudes do not support my behavior. I also now realize that this is common in many individuals from what I have seen in the real world. For example, a teammate of mine who does not get a lot of playing time told me that she wanted to have a starting position. Although this is her attitude, her behavior is not matching it by working hard during practice or putting in extra time to get better. I’ve learned that it is sometimes difficult for our attitudes to completely match our behavior. But I have also discovered from doing this activity that the things that you want bad enough will show through your behavior. 

A3: What I learned from this archive is that I am not surprised by the statement that opposites attract, and that similarity leads to attraction. From doing the survey 4/5 people agreed with me. From discussion, we decided that based on people’s personalities and how they were brought up can determine whether they are attracted to people with similar personalities or opposite. Reflecting on this activity, I believe that the old saying opposites attract and the new evidence on similarity leads to attraction are both accurate statements, it just depends on the personality of the individual. 

A2: From this archive I was able to compare data given to where I placed the adjectives next to different races. I learned from this activity that we still do have stereotypes, but they have changed over time. Meaning that the groups position and society changing both have played a role in stereotypes. For example, blacks were not always equal in societies eyes, but they have become more involved in leadership roles and societies opinions of blacks has changed. Overall from doing this assignment I learned that I especially do not have specific adjectives when it comes to certain races. It was difficult for me to place the words given in the category because I try to not stereotype people. It was interesting to see the original data given though in comparison to my thoughts of the individuals 

A1: From doing this assignment was able to think about self enhancement vs other enhancement in multiple situations. I learned that self enhancement can help improve people’s attitudes on themselves and also focus on themselves daily. This can be done by simply telling yourself you are right for the position, to just be yourself, or that you can succeed. There is also other enhancement involved when it comes to certain situations. Enhancement can make you feel good about yourself because it is coming from others. For example, others telling you that you would be good for the position, that you are a great person, or you’re doing great at your job. From what I learned enhancement is something that motivates others and helps them to feel good about themselves.
