Sport Journal Reflections🪞

This semester has truly been one of the most interesting ones that I have had, and this class is responsible for that. I was pleased to learn that this course wasn’t like any other courses that I have had. What I mean by this is that in the previous course, the work may be something like reading an article and answering questions about the article. This course, however, strayed from what I was used to with the sports journals and challenged me. Having to come up with blog posts every week challenged me creatively, but also kept the course entertaining. An example of this would be the WordPress website itself. When we first started this website, the professor challenged us to personalize the website and try to make it our own. Before this course, I only had one other class that had us use WordPress to create our own website, and they didn’t prioritize the design of the website. So, for this one, I tried to make the website my own by adding a basketball, which is a photo of a player from my favorite basketball team, Tre Johnson. I also decided to add emojis within the title of my blog. I would try to select different emojis that represent each post, which is entertaining for me to try and find the best one.

The other assignment that I believe has helped me and taught me something valuable is the pen pal assignment. This assignment has helped me acknowledge the importance of reaching out. Before this assignment, I recognized the importance of networking, but it can be difficult when you don’t see the people you work with, which was the case for me. Ultimately, my pen pal helped me get great career advice I hadn’t recognized before, like creating my own scouting reports rather than keeping things in my head. I’m planning on continuing my connection with my pen pal. I also feel more confident and willing to reach out more to build more connections online.
