Through ODU’s cybersecurity program, I’ve completed a series of rigorous and hands on courses that directly support my development as a future cybersecurity professional. These courses have provided real world knowledge in system security, cryptographic practices, legal frameworks, and Linux based network defense. Each class has sharpened my technical and critical thinking skills.
Coming into my freshman year of college, I was accepted into the Cybersecurity Living Learning Community (LLC) at Old Dominion University. This early opportunity allowed me to engage with cybersecurity faculty, peers, and course content from the first day of college, while most cybersecurity majors had to complete general education courses first. While completing my general education courses, I was also immersed in cybersecurity-focused learning experiences that helped establish a strong foundation in the field.
