Journal Entry 1: NICE FRAMEWORK

When reviewing the NICE Workforce Framework, I would have to say a few categories do seem to catch my interest.
I think the analytical aspect of the framework would fit well into my future careers as analysis of data and other processes is something I enjoy doing and could see myself becoming fulfilled in it. I enjoy collecting data and analyzing it for corrections, process improvements and potential hazards or errors. This is something I would prefer in my day to day work life.
Another area would be protection and defending as this fits well into my ideal position within cybersecurity field. I’d like to take what I learned from my data collection and other methods of experimentation and turn them into solutions to keep our systems and servers protected from all threats whether they be internal or external.
An area that would sit in the middle for me, as in I may enjoy it, but maybe not as much as the others would be the investigative process. While I love a good puzzle and finding a solution, I’d rather be the person behind the data instead of the person digging for the details of the problem. It could be interesting for sure and I may find that I enjoy it if I am ever placed to work within it, but on my own scale of preference it definitely sits in the middle for me.
I think when it comes to areas that I would enjoy the least I would mention operation and maintenance of systems and processes as the top one. I feel as if I would not enjoy this field and area of work because it takes already created solutions and fixes and continues on. I would love items that continue to build and grow and be able to learn from each issue instead of continually fixing the same issues with the same solution.
The least appealing item on the NICE framework, to me would be Securely Provision. While I understand the importance of designing and building systems I am not huge into information technology, so I feel as if I wouldn’t enjoy it much. I love the idea of creating something, but more creating a solution on paper than being the person behind creating the software or system.
