Completed Projects

Implicit Cognitions of Marijuana Use

This study examined attitudes about marijuana use, and related health (e.g., mental health) and psychological (e.g., resilience) correlates. We used the Implicit Association Task to examine attitudes towards marijuana. Several manuscripts are under review using this dataset.

Cigarette Use and Mindfulness among Young Sexual Minority Women

In this study we will examine the relationship between mindfulness and cigarette use and related factors (e.g., nicotine dependence, other tobacco use) among a sample of young adult LGBQ+ women. This study is in-progress and available for ODU students who are currently enrolled in the SONA Research Participation System. The survey is completely online and available for sign up through the SONA webpage. Those who are eligible and complete the survey will receive 1 SONA research credit.

Factors Related to Marijuana Use among Young Adult Women

This cross-sectional survey study examined factors related to cannabis use such as motives, attitudes, demand, and harm perceptions. Routes of administration (e.g., blunts, vaping) were also examined.
Currently, we have published two manuscripts from this dataset

1. Examining differences between sexual minority women and heterosexual women on route of cannabis administration and cannabis use frequency in the past 30-days. See publication here.

2. Examining differences in cannabis use and harm perceptions based on sexual identity. See publication here.
