For this journal entry, we had to watch a video and pay attention to the way that movies distort hackers. The question that we must answer is “how you think the media influences our understanding about cyber-security?”

After watching the YouTube video, the media made it seem like hacking was an easy task. In all reality, hacking is not an easy process, and it takes time to understand how hack into something. To me, the media does not give us an understanding about cyber-security. The media distort all of the information to the point where the information is not accurate. If the media was to apply an understanding about cyber-security, they would be explaining how sharing your location is dangerous. They should create realistic commercials about cyber-security. The movies should be more realistic also. They need to show individuals how hackers will attack you with the simplest information you provide on social media.
