For this journal entry, we had to read 7 different articles. Our assignment was to rate the motives from 1( most sense) to 7 (least sense).

After reading the 7 articles, I rated boredom at number 7, revenge as number 6, recognition as number 5, entertainment as number 4, multiple reasons as number 3, political as number 2, money as number 1.

I rated them in this order because boredom, revenge, and recognition tend to hurt people in the worst ways. Why would anyone want to hurt another person? It does not make sense to me. Entertainment was the middle rating because people these days love entertainment. When it comes to the entertainment motive, I do not believe it was to be done intentionally, if the outcome exposed someone. Even with the outcome, the individual was still wrong for exposing the person. Multiple reasons, political, and money were the ones that made the most sense to me. For multiple reasons, I looked at it in a psychological way. Something may be wrong with the individual in a mental way. They could get a psychological assessment to help them better understand what is happening. There is good and bad about this motive. The political motive is not intentionally hurting anyone. This motive is trying to prove a point to the world. They want to get their point across and for people to understand why they did it. These people are known as hacktivists. Money was number one. The way the economy is today, people will risk doing anything to make money to survive.
