Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational Modes of Communication

Exploring Culture

In order for me to be successful l within this course i used flip grid, Cavas, Duo lingo, the tutoring center , and my peers to gain a understanding of Spanish. In English, give a brief description of products and practices that helped you gain understanding of cultural perspectives.

These practices helped me better understand the Spanish language by being able to break down certain subjects. For example in learning lingo it had 5 different modules that broke down different aspects of Spanish. That can range from telling time, describing others, gestures, and the university. The challenges that these perspectives showed me that putting a sentence together in Spanish is hard because you have to know how to use the right verb. Writing a sentence in English is better than writing in Spanish because we already know the language.

Interpersonal Communication

In this course their where many oral exams, discussion boards, and audio activities. These assignments help me learn the beginning of Spanish. For example when giving my first flip grid video question by the professor.   I did not have any spontaneous communication activities while taking this course. I only spoke the language while learning in class. I can tell that I have grown with some assignments. For example on learning lingo we had to tell time in Spanish. I was able to get a perfect grade because I was using the recourses given to me to study which led me to be comfortable within telling time in a different language. Something that was difficult for me was finding out the right forms of ser and estar. I over came this problem by going to tutoring and going back to the modules and reviewing the pdf forms. Presentational Speaking

In this course there are a lot of presentational speaking within the application called Flip grid. One of the assignments we had to give a speech on an introduction about ourselves. https://flipgrid.com/groups/13648672/topics/32707970/responses

Something that challenged me was finding something interesting to say about myself. I overcame this challenge by asking my friends what is something interesting about me and having the explain why. Something I excled in is presenting my introduction about myself . Something that I would change is to give confidence when speaking.

Presentational Writing

In this course presentational writing was used within the disscusion boards. In on DB post we had to watch a video about social media and describe our thoughts.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRL6_SxeT0U&t=264s

Then, in a paragraph, write a reflection that includes each of the activities you described above in which you explain how you have grown with each assignment or activity. In this assignment it was very easy because the video was in english so it was easy to understand What the narrator was talking about. Something that was difficult was trying to understand the title because the professor types it in Spanish but the video was really in english. In this db post I think I exceled in writing my post because I gave great detail on the pros and cons of social media.

Interpretive Listening

In this course interpretive listening was used on an application called flipgrid. In flip grid the professor posted a video and we had to respond to her questions in Spanish. https://flipgrid.com/groups/13648672/topics/33637881/responses

Something that was unclear for me was me not being able to understand the first question. I over came this problem by going back to the modules and looking at context clues. Something that I found interesting was that the professor had zero room mates. My takeaway from this audio was to listen to each word so it can help you use your context clues. I have grown within this activity by being able to use the context clues to figure out what each sentence means.

Interpretive Reading

In this course interpretive reading was used while using Disscussion boards. The discussion consisted of us finding a famous Spanish speaking person from a Spanish speaking country.

For this post I had to go on google and search up an article that help was about a famous person from the country I choose.
