This course provided a hands-on introduction to entrepreneurship, emphasizing innovation, social impact, ethical decision-making, and the role of emerging technologies like AI. Through interactive assignments and case studies, I developed a practical understanding of launching and sustaining a business venture.

- Explored Entrepreneurial Foundations:
- Learned core concepts such as the entrepreneurial mindset, business failure analysis, and characteristics of successful entrepreneurs.
- Completed an Entrepreneurship Reflection Paper and participated in multiple discussion forums on startup success and failure.
- Applied Design Thinking and Innovation Frameworks:
- Studied Stanford’s design thinking process to understand how to creatively solve real-world business problems.
- Wrote a Critical Analysis of Business Failures and participated in a design thinking-based discussion to explore innovation in action.
- Identified Business Opportunities and Assessed Ideas:
- Analyzed market trends and customer pain points to generate original business concepts.
- Completed an Individual Idea Assessment, evaluating feasibility, scalability, and value proposition.
- Engaged with Social Innovation and Impact:

- Gained insight into crowdfunding, startup branding, and ethical leadership using case studies like Theranos and Facebook.
- Read Ethics 101: There’s Only One Rule for Making Decisions and discussed the role of values in entrepreneurship.
- Explored the Future of Entrepreneurship:
- Investigated how Artificial Intelligence and the COVID-19 pandemic are reshaping business models.
- Completed a Self-Evaluation of Entrepreneurial Growth, tying personal development to AI trends and digital transformation.
Tools, Resources & Activities:
- Engaged with resources from ODU’s Strome Entrepreneurial Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
- Applied frameworks from videos and lectures by industry leaders such as Steve Jobs, Geoffrey Hinton, Adam Grant, and Richard Branson.
- Leveraged support tools like the Entrepreneur-Pitch Toolkit and APA writing guides.
This course gave me the foundation to think like an entrepreneur—identifying opportunities, validating ideas, and planning ethically and innovatively in a rapidly changing world.
