Without a doubt, computers have improved global security generally. Here are three
instances of how computers have improved global safety. The first is the enhancement of
emergency response. A dispatch center resembling an operations center from a military film can
be found in most urban cities. a massive, dimly lit room full of computers. A dispatcher can view
emergency units on a map at any moment, use GPS to determine their location and adjust
dispatch accordingly. Furthermore, they may quickly obtain your current location when you
phone 911. Before the invention of computers, law enforcement, and emergency services had to
rely on maps and place memory. They can now proceed to the emergency by punching in an
address. The advancements in security systems come next. Prior to computers, security was
essentially limited to a lock. A live video feed can be transmitted from a computer to any device
you need to use to view it. Computers can be used to create an intrusion detection system that
can use a range of techniques to identify whether there has been a breach, including proximity
switches on windows and doors, infrared sensors, lasers, motion detectors, and software that uses
cameras to distinguish between an animal or a person.
Lastly, safety on public transit has improved, including cars, trains, and airplanes. In the
absence of computers, pilots had to rely on maps and landmarks during the day and celestial
navigation at night. Modern airplanes are capable of taking off, flying, and landing without
human assistance—and they can do it more effectively. Pilots can now use sophisticated
navigation systems like Inertial Navigation (using lasers and gyros) for dead reckoning
navigation, radio triangulation, RADAR altimeters, and GPS systems while still operating the
aircraft, in place of stargazing or searching for ground-based landmarks. Without computers,
none of this would have been possible.
In terms of decreasing global security, computers have also played a role. Computers are
required for current guidance systems on bombs and missiles, drones dropping grenades,
sophisticated weapon systems, etc. Additionally, we can Computers can also be used to get
around the aforementioned examples. Computers have, in general, made the world a safer and
better place by keeping an eye on these systems and preventing incursion, thanks to
cybersecurity professionals.
