My leadership course was ENMA 401 – Project Management. This class was a great introduction to the skills of project management and gives an overview of topics covered in the Project Management Body Of Knowledge, PMBOK. The course required a simulated project that required the use of all of the skills / topics covered in the class. Below is the Risk Register that was created for my project.
The risk Register is developed to identify and mitigate risks associated with the project.
Project Management, maybe more so than any other course, emphasizes the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work as well as communicate verbally, make decisions and solve problems. The skills learned in ENMA 401 have already served me well. I have since taken a PMP exam prep course and plan to take the exam this summer. I am also currently completing a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification which includes a project. Many of the skills and topics involved are either the same or very similar to those learned in this course.
