This assignment was somewhat challenging for me. I am not really the type to post a lot of social media, and when I do it is mostly inconsistent and boring, so by looking at my social media you wouldn’t really be able to identify a persona. Therefore, I decided to create a sport-related social media persona from scratch, both because of some of the things I previously mentioned but also to keep my main social media channels private and semi-anonymous. And so, I started to brainstorm some ideas for my sport-related social media persona; my focus was for it to be something chill, something people can see and find funny, a bit ridiculous, and somewhat unbelievable and incredible.
After analyzing some of my options, I came up with the “Sport Runner”. With this title you may think it has something to do with running, and in fact does but not the way most people would think. Instead of running marathons or 5ks, my social media persona runs fields and courts of his favorite teams, basically like streaking, but with clothes and fully legal (previously agreed upon with the organizations). This idea came from my curiosity for this type of activity, like field invasions at the end of games etc., but since I am too scared to do it myself, and since I am a law abiding citizen, I decided to make up an imaginary social media persona instead.
The places where the “Sport Runner” was going to run at were easy for me to decide. As they are the fields or arenas of my favorite teams or just iconic places, I thought it would be cool to run at. He started by running on the Stadium of Light (stadium of Benfica), then Camp Nou (stadium of Barcelona), the American Airlines Center (the Dallas Mavericks arena), the Huntington Bank Field (the Cleveland Browns stadium), and to finish the journey he returned to the Stadium of Light.
