Discussion question:
“How has cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance?”
My response:
“Cyber technology has created many opportunities for workplace deviance. Some of that deviance may not be malicious in nature, but could lead to cybersecurity incidents. An example of workplace deviance could be installing software or visiting websites without the permission of the IT department, which could accidentally lead to attackers infiltrating an organization through unauthorized software. Additionally, security controls on cyber technology might lead people to commit workplace deviance: For example, if an employee thought having to change their password every 6 months was annoying, they might decide to try and find a workaround in order to use the same password every single time.”
