This class has really improved my writing progression. The midterm essay was one of the best essays I have written in this class. I got a 94 on it which means that I only messed up on one section and that’s it. My writing skills over the course of this class has significantly improved. One aspect of this class that I still do not understand is the editing skills checklist. I have had the most trouble with this in the class. I believe I would have a higher grade in this class if this was not a requirement in the class. The editing skills checklist serves no purpose in my opinion. I do not need to rewrite the feedback form my teacher on a spreadsheet to learn from my mistakes. I learn from my mistakes by understanding what I did wrong.

The ePortfolio also seemed like a waste of my time at first. After I started to work through it, I realized that this website was actually very helpful in my quest to better my essay writing skills. The journals that were a part of the criteria for the website helped me to better my word selection skills. I would use simple words and now I use more insightful and meaningful words. Another way the ePortfolio website helped me throughout this course is that I learned how to develop my own website which will most likely help me in the future as an upcoming business major. In this class, my grammar skills have been more thoroughly developed. I rarely make any grammatical mistakes now. This has taken my writing skills to the next level because now I am not worried about messing up on the grammar section of the rubric. I am only worried about the clarity and syntax which I have also done well in the class.

The essays that must be completed for points in the class were not as difficult as I had originally thought they were going to be. I realized that after the first essay, I was going to do good in the class if I had just stayed on top of the workload. The one problem with me is that I procrastinate a lot of my work until the very last minute. I usually do this with almost all my essays and homework. I had procrastinated all the essays for this class and if I had done them earlier, I may have gotten higher scores on them. The grades that I had received on the essays were not horrible at all, but they could have all been perfect scores if I were not lazy.

Overall, I believe that this class was not the most difficult class in the world. This class can easily be passed with an A if one just takes the time to do the work the right way and turn it in on time. The most difficult part about this course was the editing skills checklist. The easiest part of this class were the journal entries because I was able to write about what I wanted to write about.
