Can a successful venture be unethical?
Cultural values play a significant factor in ethics. Some cultures praise certain business practices, such as in some eastern countries, where certain animals are food delicacies. In the United States, we find it unethical to eat such animals and look at such practices with a general disgust. Our culture regards these practices as unethical as we ban specific practices in our Market. Do some businesses cause more damage to humans, animals, and environments despite their ability to generate a large amount of revenue? Yes. A venture can harm others, and a person investing in a company should be aware of these factors. It would be unwise to invest in a company or area where you have moral or ethical concerns. You may not expect that the business be should down or seize operations because ethics are defined differently by everyone. If a venture is successful, it is needed by many people. As the famous investor William O’niell says ‘The market never lies’.
