Cyber Terrorism This course was not necessarily needed in my degree, but it sounded interesting and related. The assignment I will focus on is a discussion assignment that I had to do. What I valued from this class is the ability to work in groups and form discussions with people who have different opinions because this class was more of a discussion in the classroom. I think this assignment shows what some of my viewpoints were during the class and some of what I learned as a whole. This is a discussion that I had to do for the class that went over the differences between foreign and domestic terrorism and some of the social media influences that these groups have and how they play a role in different methods of recruiting and actions these groups might take.

Context on why I chose this course: I chose this because it sounded interesting, and I figured it could lead me to getting a career in the future with some government organization that focus on this topic.

The differences and similarities between foreign and domestic terrorism

Foreign and domestic terrorism have differences, and they have their similarities some of the differences are foreign terrorists can take the place of an organization that is located in another country or an organization that influences someone from another country. Domestic terrorism is something that happens in the same place that the person or organization is operating in so for example if someone does something that is considered terrorism in the US and they were originally from the US. Now if they were from somewhere else and came here or carried out an act of terrorism in their country they would be considered by the US as a foreign terrorist. The social media impact on terrorism has led to a very heavy presence of domestic terrorists and foreign terrorists another way to call foreign terrorists is to call them international terrorists. Now the way that both of these can be related is the way they use their social media presence to improve their position. To conclude foreign terrorism is also called international terrorism and is more widely talked about in mainstream media domestic terrorism is not as well talked about but is more localized however both of these have a social media presence, and they use the platforms to recruit and plan different types of attacks.
