My name is Madison Clark (he/him), and I am a senior at ODU. My major is Public Health, and my minor is Language Studies. Although I have chosen to pursue a career in healthcare, I also have a passion for linguistics and learning languages. As early as middle school, I discovered this passion when I started taking French. I caught onto it quickly and began to truly enjoy it, and very quickly everyone in my class started asking me for help on their classwork, sometimes to the point where I delayed to finish my own. I believe that if language can be learned successfully, then it can be taught. My pursuit of the TESL certificate is a way of honoring my passion for language and opening up an additional career opportunity aside from healthcare.
Some fun facts about me are that I grew up in Hampton Roads and have lived there all my life. I currently have a little place in Norfolk that sits right on the Elizabeth River. This is the water view.

I enjoy the outdoors, especially bodies of water, and I also like animals and wildlife. I also enjoy music, especially 90s rap and R&B music and jazz. Part of why I like rap so much is because of my love for language and the way the lyrics make music and have meaning at the same time.
