Purpose

The Task Force on Speech and Vision Processing focuses on research, application and dissemination of computational intelligence technologies in the field to advance and promote speech and vision processing. This Task Force will use a combination of organized special sessions in conferences and email discussion and, possibly, some reports based on data collected in special sessions/conferences organized by this Task Force or even special journal issues, as vehicles to advance and promote computational intelligence research in speech and vision processing.

Specific Goals

One of the primary goals for this task force is to bring together relevant researchers and increase collaboration in this area. To that end, we have been organizing Special Sessions and Symposium in IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (SSCI) and IEEE/INNS International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN) and/or World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI). We are planning to organize the following:

a) A special session in Bio-inspired Computational Vision in IJCNN in 2017

b) A symposia in Computational Vision in SSCI in 2017
