I’m not going to lie when I first saw the assignment where we had to create a social media persona. I was lost to what we had to create. I’m not big on social media. I post here and there about my favorite sports teams or a movie and or one of my favorite artists. Social media is a place where you can reach millions of people from the comfort of your bedroom and let them in a little of your world. To me that’s unique and kind of scary depending who sees your content. Creating this social media persona for this assignment was odd but interesting at the same time and it opened my eyes to what social media persona you can create when you actually think about it. At first I was stuck on what to create but eventually I realized creating this persona is just allowing people on social media what I want them to see into my life. Social media really gives people a way to see you but not know you so they use their interruption of your post to determine their thoughts of you. My posts are instagram post two posts and 1 story post. The two posts will be on there until I decide to delete and the story post is only up there for 24 hours allowing people to see something I care about or how I am for a short period of time. It took me a while to decide which social media platform to post on and create these posts but in my world I think I get information about people from instagram the most where I communicate the most is instagram. This assignment was very interesting to me and creating the persona and seeing what my instagram could be when I actually post and seeing how I could portray my life on social media in the future.
