Volunteering Artifact
Artifact 4
I volunteer with Serve the City in the Hampton Roads region, and I tutor children through the Newsome Bailey Project; this experience gives me hands-on work that bridges physical labor and tutoring. I like to showcase my call for action. Serve the City involves rolling up my sleeves and doing yard work and home maintenance for those in need, including the elderly or sick. As a neighbor, I like giving back to my community. Working with students has led me to continue my education at Paul DD. Camp and gain my bachelor’s degree in leadership at Old Dominion University. I want to give back; this is my calling. Helping kids with a firm, fair leadership philosophy and building students’ confidence. Combining these is a huge highlight of my leadership approach; it will help me meet my long-term goals, from calling to action, in helping all age ranges.
