Exploring Culture

this is an assignment that i have completed in lingrohub it was based on how different people from different Spanish countries/cities viewed gay marriage.
this is another assignment from lingrohub in exploring cultures. where they talked about how women sport players doesn’t get as much attention as male sports players.

Engaging in Communities

I think that it’s very important to engage with my community and global community I think it’s important that we all stick together and help each other out.

Interpersonal Communication

The TalkAbroad help me more with communicating in Spanish being able to listen and understand what a fluent Spanish speaker is saying is a strong strength to have in the business world. the first talkabroad we talked about our families I had a view hiccups but i was able to communicate to the beat of my abilities. if I could do it over again i would spend way more time preparing and making sure that I understand the material. I learned some things about the Spanish speaker and her family we had some similarities. like we both had pet dogs. we also had some differences her parent were married mine were never married and I had more siblings. It was fun very fin learning experience. I’ve definitely became a better Spanish speaker from when I first started in Spanish 101. I haven’t really spoke to anyone in Spanish outside of class but now that I’m done with Spanish for my major I will still continue to practice my Spanish and increase my knowledge of the language.

Presentational Speaking

I did a Spanish project on making a cooking video in Spanish describing all of the ingredients that I used. I made chicken alfredo the video went well I could’ve put more effort in to the video and I could’ve spent more time preparing the dialogue. overall the video came out great and the food was also good so it was was a good experience. it really helped me work on my vocab and how to change the ending of my verbs. i did struggle those pronouncing some of the words. I wanted to do it without reading off of a piece of paper but I had too look a couple of times. I’m hoping to get to s point where I can do it with no mistake and no help. if I keep working and practicing I know that I can do it.

Presentational Writing

these are two flyers that I made in Spanish 102 one is a boxing club flyer and the other is a how to avoid depression flyer. I learned how to create flyers in Spanish and tell people to join a club and was able to describe the club in Spanish. this helped a lot with being able to give details of who, what, when, and where my activity will be practiced. and I was able to come up with a couple of catchy phrases in Spanish. the second was a flyer for mental and physical well being which I learned how use reflexive verbs and use the right placement for each verb. this project was really helpful because it taught me how to give mental health advice to people.

Interpretive Listening

In lingrohub we did some conversations where we listen to some one and we would then answer them and ask a question. I was helpful because it was like I was really having a conversation with some one so it helped me get more comfortable with the language. talkabroad was another assignment that helped my interpretive listening skill, because listening to a fluent person talk Spanish and being about to understand it and they talk fast is really a plus in my book. helped me prepare myself for future conversation i might have with another Spanish speaking person.

Interpretive Reading

these activities in lingrohub help me be able to read and understand what I’m reading that is one of my biggest strengths when I come to Spanish is being able to understand what I am reading I do that better than listening and comprehending. some of the words are almost spelled the same as their English meaning so that make is a lot easier to make out certain words.
