I recently received the message below from a staffer with Elaine Luria’s campaign in the 2nd Congressional District.
“I am writing from Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s re-election campaign in regards to a Summer Internship opportunity. We are in the midst of launching our Summer Internship Program in the coming weeks, and we believe ODU students could be a great fit for the program. Your students would have the opportunity to gain experience working on one of the most competitive congressional races in the country and have a direct impact on politics in Coastal Virginia.
Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. Before running for Congress, Elaine served two decades in the U.S. Navy, retiring at the rank of Commander. Elaine serves on the House Armed Services Committee as Vice Chair, the House Veterans Affairs Committee as the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee, and the House Homeland Security Committee. In addition, she was appointed by the Speaker to the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the US Capitol. Now running for her third term, Elaine is considered to be one of the most effective members of Congress.
If you have any students who would be interested in this opportunity, please pass along the attached job description, which includes a link to apply.
Thanks in advance for passing along this opportunity to your students!”
