Join us! – Graduate Students

Dr. Hawn will be accepting applications for PhD students this cycle (Fall 2023) for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Clinical Ph.D. program is offered as part of the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, which is an APA-accredited program and a collaborative effort between Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University.

The Hawn TRAC Lab at Old Dominion University looks for applicants with a strong interest in research related to trauma responses (including resilience), trauma-related comorbidity, and biological underpinnings of trauma-related responses. Because our lab uses a range of research methods, prior experience with a specific research method is not required. However, experience working with biological data is preferred.

Graduate students in the Hawn TRAC Lab have the opportunity to design and carry out their own research studies, as well as being involved in ongoing research with faculty and other students in the lab. The goal of our graduate training is to develop clinical and research scientists who are able to produce and consume high-quality research in clinical health areas.
