Journal Entry #10

Social cybersecurity is not merely a technical challenge but a fundamental societal issue that requires collective efforts from government agencies, private sector organizations, educational institutions, and civil society. By recognizing social cybersecurity as an emerging national security requirement, we can build a resilient and secure digital society that protects our citizens, preserves democratic values, and ensures the prosperity of our nation. Our interaction, communication, and business practices have undergone a fundamental transformation due to the widespread use of social media platforms and the growth of digital technologies. Although there are many advantages to these developments, there are also new risks and weaknesses. Cybercriminals and hostile actors take advantage of these weaknesses by distributing false information, influencing societal norms, and focusing on specific persons in order to accomplish their goals.
