Creative Writing

The artifacts in this section demonstrate my creative writing skills, including narrative development, audience awareness, and flexible analysis. These assignments helped me grow as a writer by blending creativity with strong communication techniques.

English (112L) – Infographic Analysis

I selected this artifact from my English class because this project allowed me to blend analysis and visual communication, which was very challenging for me because English is not my first language; however, it pushed me to think about ways to present information creatively. The infographic required me to break down a text into basic components, essentially translating it into a visual format that was both engaging and easy to understand. I really enjoyed the process of learning design along with selecting the layout and color that best represented my ideas.

Women, Gender, and Technology Worldwide (WMST390T) – Final Project and reflection essay

I selected this artifact because Women, Gender, and Technology Worldwide is one of the classes I enjoyed the most. The reflection essay was the final project for the class, and I selected a topic that aligns with my culture: baking Dominican bread. The research process challenged me to think critically about the intersections of gender, culture, and technology on a global scale. The process of baking bread proved more challenging than I anticipated, leading to a deeper appreciation for those who lack innovation and for how it affects them differently across various societies.

English (112) – Social Media Project

This artifact for my English class was quite interesting, as it gave me the opportunity to experiment with creating character voices and using their perspective and story to envision what I believed the character looked like based on the period in which the story occurred. Instead of writing in traditional academic format, I had to adapt my message to fit the structure of a social media platform. This required considerable creativity, strategic thinking, and an understanding of how people engage with online content. Overall, this class strengthens my ability to write for diverse audiences and present content that conveys meaning to different audiences.
